You can do a range of statistical analyses within WISP itself. For example, you can:
- Compare nutrient intakes in different groups, e.g. different dietary advice groups, or cases/controls for a particular disease.
- Compare nutrient intakes before and after dietary advice either for one individual or for a group of subjects.
- Compare nutrient intakes with Dietary Reference Values for a group of subjects.
- Determine the contributions of food groups to nutrient intakes for a group of subjects.
- Determine the weights of foods consumed by a group of subjects, e.g. fruit, vegetables, etc.
(This can be done for one subject elsewhere in the program).
The WISP statistics module produces tables of descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, median), calculates two sample t-tests, paired sample t-tests, correlation coefficients and also produces scatter plots and bar charts. Results can be viewed on screen or printed out.
If you wish to do more complex statistical analyses, you can use file outputs from the main WISP analyser in statistical packages such as SPSS.
