There is now a UK government approved data format for the export/import of nutrient composition data, e.g. for foods, ingredients and recipes. This was developed by Tinuviel Software for the e-government project.

With this approved format, it is possible to exchange food composition data between, for example, food manufacturers/retailers, nutritional analysis software products, etc. Now, it can be really easy to export and import these data.
