One reason that a product becomes discontinued is that it is no longer compatible with the latest Windows operating system. Also, as computers become more powerful, updating our nutritional analysis products makes sense. This enables us to make use of the increased capability of modern computers and of the programming languages used to develop the software. This, in turn, gives you the capability to perform more effectively and efficiently.

Programs can also be upgraded when there is a significant change to the features provided or the way they are presented. This improves the operation of the program and/or gives you more features to enhance your productivity.

So, if you want to be sure that the software you are using is compatible with the latest Windows operating systems and gives you the features you need to perform effectively, it makes sense to use the latest version of the program.

Product Support for Discontinued Products

Tinuviel Software customers are provided with unlimited support for most of our products. However, for discontinued products, such support is limited to the following :

• Information on compatibility with current Windows operating systems
• Details of possible upgrade paths
• Information on preservation of data when upgrading. Note that it is normally only possible to preserve legacy data when moving between adjacent numbered versions, e.g., 2.0 to 3.0. In other cases, data translation services are available from Tinuviel Software. This service would be chargeable. Contact us for details.
• Explanation of program functions and features (where we are still have versions of the program running)
• Assistance with reinstallation and activation (where possible, and dependent on operating system and your retention of service packs, etc., which may not be supported on our website).

Specifically excluded from this support are :

• Investigation of error messages and faults
• Provision of replacement media or manuals
• Updates to food composition databanks and other system databases
• Ongoing supply of any supporting hardware, e.g., security keys, barcode scanners, etc.

General Points

Any Tinuviel Software products written for 16-bit Windows or DOS will not work with Microsoft Vista. All products which were written for 32-bit Windows will either operate unchanged with Vista, or will require a free download from our website to ensure compatibility.
