Integrated Catering System
Integrated Catering System (ICS) is designed to be used in hospital catering departments. It connects via a network to the
WISP recipe management and menu planning system. The main features of ICS are as follows:
- Used to design menus for institutional catering
- Allows patient menu selections to be entered into a computer via bar code scanner
- Alternative entry of patient menu selections at ward level via the supplied ICS-RDE
(remote data entry program)
- Generates cooks lists, picking lists and distribution lists
- Can report back on individual's menu selections via a link to WISP
ICS has been developed to facilitate the collection of patient meal choices and
to convert these into quantity information for catering use. Ancillary functions allow patient
selections to be tagged and fed back to dietitians, enabling the adequacy of patient's nutritional
intake to be determined. ICS can be used on a number of different levels, by
a range of users and can be provided with an initial database of recipes.
